Child Safety Standards
Öther you! is an anonymous chat for adults. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our standards.
1. Adults only
- Öther you! is only for users aged 18 and over. Users must confirm their age when creating an account.
- The app is rated for adults in the app stores.
- Accounts we believe belong to someone under 18 are closed.
2. What is prohibited
The following is strictly prohibited and leads to an immediate, permanent ban:
- Creating, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, animated or AI-generated content.
- Sexualizing minors in any form, including sexual comments about minors or role-play involving minors.
- Grooming: contacting or attempting to contact a minor for sexual purposes, or trying to move a minor to another platform.
- Sextortion, or any attempt to obtain sexual images from a minor.
- Trafficking or any other exploitation of children.
3. How to report
- In the app: open the chat, tap [the menu ⋮ → Report] and choose “Child safety”. You can also block the user.
- By email: write to [child safety email] with as much detail as possible (date, time and what happened). Please do not send us images of abuse.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
4. What we do
- We review child safety reports with priority.
- We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We report CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant national authorities, as required by law.
- We preserve relevant information and cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
- We use measures to prevent banned users from returning.
5. Compliance with law
We comply with applicable child safety laws in the countries where Öther you! is available, including laws that require reporting CSAM to the appropriate authorities.
